Thursday’s meeting between the two Hesse clubs took place as part of Hanau’s 125th anniversary celebrations. The friendly also provided the perfect opportunity for the Eagles squad to maintain match fitness during the current international break.

Adi Hütter’s charges dominated throughout the 90 minutes, producing a focused and eye-catching performance that saw them lead 3-0 at half-time. Ten more goals followed after the break, with Branimir Hrgota - who opened his account from the penalty spot three minutes before the interval - netting seven of those.

It was an extremely impressive display by Eintracht, whose impressive form shows no sign of ending any time soon.
